(Meh, I thought I should start us off.)
Skye lied down in the middle of a deserted beach, relaxing. White sands...cool surf...sunny weather...Ah...this is the life... he thought. It had been a while since he had peace like this, so this particular young man was definitely going to enjoy it. He raised a rather large glass filled to the brim with a white tropical drink and said, "Cheers to you, mate," and took a sip. "Ah...Retirement is good..." he sighed, a rather large smile on his face. He listened to the lapping waves as he relaxed, letting his mind wander and his body relax. The call of the seagulls far off mixed with the swaying palm trees, creating a lulling effect that could just about make any man sleep...of course, Skye was no different.

Aes was relaxing on her boat, on her way to Ceyestis, when she saw it. A dark shadow in the water.
Hmm…I’m getting pretty low on food. Without a second thought, she aimed her pistol into the water and prepared to fire. But to her surprise, the creature leapt gracefully out of the water and into her boat, crashing down awkwardly with such force that it sent her flying.
Aes slammed into the railing of her ship with such force that stars exploded in her eyes. She shook her head, clearing it, and glared straight into the eyes of her adversary: a two-thousand pound aquatic reptile with walrus-like tusks. She aimed and fired a few times, but was unable to pierce its thick hide. It simply glared back, and then threw back its massive head, a howl gurgling from its blubbery throat, in premature celebration of victory.
Now’s my chance.
She ran straight towards the creature, and stopped, skidding a few feet before leaping and flipping over the creature, landing in a drop stance behind it.
“Looks like you’ve met your end,” she smirked, aiming at the vulnerable spot on its rump.
-click-
Oh, shit!!! Her eyes widened as the creature spun around and charged at her with uncharacteristic speed. She barely dodged it, stumbling a little before regaining her balance. She quickly reloaded, while watching the beast charge right into her steering wheel, catching its long, knife-like teeth in the spokes. It tried to pull loose, thrashing its body in fury. Aes didn’t care. The Pure Plummet was made of the material study enough to withstand almost anything. She casually walked over to the struggling animal, gun cocked and ready for the killing shot. Suddenly, it tore itself loose from the wheel. It stared triumphantly at Aes, ready to make a meal of her. But she smirked again.
“You’re too stupid for your own good.”
The creature stared in confusion. Then it finally glanced down. Its mouth was dripping blood. And its prized teeth were gone. It looked around in confusion, and finally its sight settled on the steering wheel. Its teeth were still lodged there, pulled out by the root. With a mournful wail, the reptilian leapt off her boat, returning with a loud splash back to the water.
“And that’s the tooth,” Aes finished, grinning at the canines the creature left behind in its flight. Then she sighed, the smile disappearing from her face.
“What a disgusting mess.” She picked up a piece of cloth and immediately began polishing like a frenzied housewife. As she was fervently burnishing the steering wheel, she picked up the teeth, which were very light and sturdy.
“These should fetch a good price,” she muttered to herself.
She put them down and continued cleaning up the ship until it gleamed. By then, she had reached Ceyestis.
~~~
Aes spent a while haggling with the trader, finally settling on a price that was less than satisfactory. No matter. It wasn’t the reason she came to Ceyestis. This was a popular spot for successful pirates, and she was sure to find several pirates with large sums of money on their heads. She wandered about the town, enjoying the atmosphere while keeping a keen eye out for bounties.
Skye awoke with a rumbling in his stomach. Mmmm...Food sounds good right about now... So, packing what little belongings he had (a beach towel and a glass) into the Wave Bike docked nearby, he set into town, wearing nothing more than navy blue swim trunks and a small grey fabric coat.
He found the nearest Farmer's Market quite interesting, but didn't stop to check as he saw posters of him nearby. Now, walking along the boardwalk, he sighed. Man, I never get to check out those places... He finally settled for the nearby food stands and bought a hot dog, contenting himself to walk along the streets and look at the other young people.
Sasaki cruised around in Caliburn looking for a place to land. He was obviously new to the area because of his turtle-speed hovering around the place, but he didn't care. There were no air traffic controls around, and very few flying ships. He looked downwards from the stern and saw the vast blue ocean stretching from three sides, the fourth one being land. Huge buildings, resorts he immediately thought, stood on that piece of land and so Sasaki decided to land there. Going back to the control room, he maneuvered his ship down into the water from the air and docked it quite a ways from the other ships around.
Sasaki took some leftover corn bread from a small crate beside the control room and went out to the stern to look at the view. Indeed, this place looks pretty nice. Maybe I can get some commodities here... But he decided to finish eating what he had in his hand and secure the ship, and then will he go down and look for some wares in this place that he thought was quite advanced.
Aes had never been to Ceyestis before, and soon, she was absorbed by the amount of activity going on the bustling town. With her mind now wrapped up in the sights and smells of the place, she absent-mindedly bumped into a young man with a hot dog.
"Oh! Excuse me, I'm sorry."
"No, it's fine," Skye smiled as the young woman bumped into him. He then turned around and began walking away, but just then, he heard a young man whisper (quite loudly) to his lover, "Hey, isn't that The Limit?" Of course, this made all of the heads around him turn as he sweatdropped.
Aes had heard the unnecessarily loud whisper as well, and she too whirled around in shock.
It was so obvious, how could I have missed him?!? ...Although it is a pity. Such a gentleman. After so many years, planning out a cheesy finishing line for him, she hardly expected to meet him this way.
Oh well. A pirate is a pirate. And that means I get to eat for another day. She cocked her gun and aimed it at his chest.
"Sorry, Limit, but I'm gonna have to take you down."
Skye turned around slowly to the young woman, seeing that she had pulled out a gun on him. "Now now, let's not get hasty here..." he said, putting his hands up in a apprehensive manner and slowly backing away. "I'm retired now, you know? See? No weapons!" he smiled awkwardly. Man...It sucks having no weapons... he silently cursed, still backing away. Once he found an opening among the spectators, he yelled, "See ya!" and ran off.
"Ugh! Come back here!" Aes couldn't fire for risk hitting one of the townspeople. But she couldn't let an opportunity like this slip away so easily. She took off after him, gun in hand, braid whipping about behind her.
But her target was already a good distance ahead of her. No worries. She could catch up. Aes glared in determination and broke into a sprint.
"Sails up! Drop the anchor!"
"You realize we have brakes instead of anchors, oh great captain?"
Damian grinned at his ever sarcastic first-mate. "Yeah, but it feels good saying it. It's a good thing we DON'T have to deal with all that stuff or we'd never get into the harbor with a crew of two."
It was true. Besides Damian, there was only one other person sailing under the flags of the Star Skipper, his long-time loyal friend Atticus. The rest of the crew left after the old captain died - most of them having stayed on solely because the old man paid well. But when command of the ship fell to the young Damian, they left, looking for more promising jobs. Atticus had signed on as a deckhand a little while after Damian. They were about the same age, and because fast friends.
Damian looked out at the island Ceyestis and savored the feel of wind on his face, the sun on his back. He closed his eyes, blocking out sight, but making his other senses more acute.
"Hey, I hear something", he said, opening his eyes. "Something's going on over there. Eh, Atticus! I'm taking the motorboat to check things out first. Just wait for me when you get there!"
"Stupid thrill-seeker", the other man muttered. Then he called out to the captain, "Don't do anything reckless!"
But Damian was already gone.
Skye took a quick look behind him to see, to his amusement and dismay, that the young woman was catching up...fast. He put the half-finished in his mouth and began to speed up, heading for the shore now only a few yards away. If I can just get to my bike... he thought, munching on his hot dog.
"A chase", Damian mused.
Having parked his motorboat under the dock, Damian quickly ran up the emergency escape on one of the nearby buildings, and climbed to the top where he'd have a good view. He leaned over the side and saw that the woman doing the chasing was waving her gun in the air, effectively emptying the streets of pedestrians. Then he turned his attention to the chasee, and saw that he looked strangely familiar...
Straining to get a better look, Damian leaned over some more, and before he realized what was happening, he feet had left the solid concrete and he was diving head-first toward the street. Without really meaning to, he screamed, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Aes had been catching up to the man, when he suddenly sped up. Since she had unconsciously cleared the way with her gun, she found she had a good shot at him. She aimed her gun, ready to fire, when she heard a cry. Still running, she looked around, looking for the source, and finally looked up. It was a man, and he was falling from one of the buildings. Skye was lucky; he would get a few extra seconds of freedom. Aes skidded to a stop, and looked around for something to catch the falling man with. Although many people had abandoned their stalls in flight, she doubted they would help much in cushioning his fall. Finally, hoping the man was light, she stepped underneath his shadow and prepared to catch him. He'd better reward her for her heroic act.
I hope he's an official... she thought, bracing herself for the impact.
What would the captain do? Damian thought back to the old man.
"Land on your butt. If you're lucky you'll escape with no more than a few bruises and a cracked tailbone."
Yup, he could definitely recall the captain saying that once. Trusting in the old man's knowledge of falling from tall buildings, Damian struggled to twist himself in midair until his backside faced the ground. Then he braced for impact.
WHAM! The ground seemed strangely soft... Damian opened his eyes, and realized he had landed on a person. On the young woman weilding the gun, no less.
"OH MY GOD", he quickly jumped up and held out a hand to his fallen savior. "I'm so sorry! Are you alright?"
So much for not doing anything reckless. He was SO going to get chewed out by Atticus after he finds out...
A rather large thud has resounded behind Skye, making him look back. The young woman chasing him had stopped, apparently by a young man that now sat on her. "Gotta remember to thank him later," he muttered under his breath as he reached his Wave Bike. Of course, seeing as how he'd rather not leave this island, Skye put his trademark bracelet on and strapped his WartHog on his left side. "Do you mind not chasing me?" he asked sweetly as he walked back to help the woman up.
