"Okay!" Artemis whooped, doing a little dance. Since she didn't know how to dance, it consisted mostly of excessive flailing of her arms, along with several celebratory jumps and twirls. She stopped only when she came short of slapping Aes in the face, then turned back to the weapons smith and giggled.
"So, about my offer." She lifted a gun out of a display box and held it up to the light, biting her lower lip in thought. "You're a good smith, but you didn't design any of these guns. Ahh, how boring! There's nothing original here!" Artemis sighed and put the gun back none-too-gently.
The man huffed, "so? Wha's your point?"
"Hmm... how many original designs would you say Carmichael has?"
"'e's got one... but it's nothin' special at best." He folded his arms across his broad chest and gave Artemis a peeved look.
She walked closer and put her hands on her hips. "I'm going to come back either later today or early tomorrow with the blueprint for a gun. You're gonna make it for me. Your payment will be enough money to cover the materials' cost, and full rights to the blueprint--you'd then be free to claim it as your original design, and your store would be the only one in the entire world that would carry it. ...If we like the job you do, we might even buy some more stuff from ya," Artemis added as an afterthought. The then gave him her best 'cute' smile and asked, "so, what'll it be, mister?"
His eyes narrowed. "Full rights? So I could change anythin' I wanted to?"
Artemis laughed. "Don't doubt me, mister. There'll be nothing to fix."
The man sighed, then rubbed his bald crown again. "Geez. Fine, kid. You win. It'd better be good."
"Whoohoo!" she cheered, once again doing her celebratory dance.
