"Okay!" Artemis chirped, setting her bag on the table and whipping out the mostly-complete blueprint. She began to finish up the grip, for what would hopefully be the last time, and started labeling materials.

Aes, standing with her arms crossed, looked over Artemis's shoulder to watch the young girl's work. She stepped closer and leaned in for a closer look, and presently her hand brushed the stuffed cat Artemis carried everywhere, and she glanced down.
"Aren't you....a bit old for this?" she asked with slight concern, gingerly lifting one of the cat's legs for emphasis.

"Hm?" Artemis glanced up to see Aes holding her cat's leg. "Mmm, no, not really." She grinned and went back to her design. Almost done!
She paused for a second, trying to simeltaneously remember the width of a person's hand, and how much Aes already knew about herself. "Hold up your right hand for a sec, okay? It was my sister's."
...Wait, that sounded kind of strange. Aes's hand used to belong to Skye? What? Artemis frowned at her... awkward grammar, but nonetheless motioned for Aes to raise her hand.

Obediently, Aes raised her right hand. Artemis's sister's? (( Aack. Weird grammar is invading all our posts O.o ))
"Um...I don't think so. I've had this hand as long as I can remember." Then it hit her. "...Oh." She was reminded of her brother, and patted her cap subconsciously before leaning over Artemis's design again.
"Is there any way you can make it usable by either hand? I'd like to be able to switch to my left if my right is restrained, or something."

Artemis laughed. So Aes had noticed her unfortunate phrasing of her two separate statements, too. She missed that the "...oh" was a sign that Aes understood what she'd meant, though, and clarified. "I said that kind of strangely, huh? I meant that this-" she gestured at her cat with her head- "-was my sister's. As far as changing hands, I can do that, but the grip won't fit either hand as well. Is that okay?" She held her hand up sideways against Aes's, measuring the width of the girl's palm with her fingers. Artemis jot the measurement down next to the drawing of the grip, and turned to Aes expectantly.

"That's fine. I can get used to it," Aes said with a nod.

"Okay, cool. So then I just need to do that and we're done!" Over the next several minutes, Artemis redid several lines and made a few notes on the side of her drawing, then gave it a last once-over. "Yup, I think that's it." She rolled up the blueprint and shoved it in her bag, along with her trusty pen. "Should we go?"

"Sure. Thank you very much." Suddenly, she heard the faint, scuffling sound of fighting nearby, and suppressed a smirk.
"You hear that?" she asked, gesturing towards the direction the sound was coming from. Without waiting for a response, she suggested nonchalantly, "Wanna check it out?"

Artemis turned, hearing shouts and loud footsteps coming from the direction Aes had motioned at. She immediately broke into a wide grin. "Ooh, chaos! Sounds fun, let's go!"
((And once again, we thread-hop.))
