Edit: I decided to add more to the profile as Artemis developed more fully in my head.
Character Name: Artemis Wylder
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Class: Researcher
Ship: ---
Weapons: Two long knives that are sheathed along the insides of her forearms. They reach from her wrists to just below the crook of her arm, and are virtually hiltless. Artemis also carries three throwing daggers, one strapped to each ankle and one on a necklace she wears under her shirt. She prefers to stay on a ship and be the sniper, though, because she may be quick but she lacks physical strength. She will tend to forget that she is armed, too.
Personality: Extremely childlike. Artemis is naive, loud, happy-go-lucky, cheerful, clumsy, and acts as though she is on a permanent sugar high. She tends to forget important things and remember insignificant details, and has an extremely short attention span. Thus, she is bored very easily, and oftentimes will do unexpected things for the sole purpose of making life more interesting. Essentially, she acts like an eight-year-old.
Artemis has a hard time staying serious, laughing off insults and compliments alike. She is tactless, and misses almost all subtleties and hints.
Her inner thoughts are significantly calmer (i.e. less shrill) than her outside demeanor, but they are still just as disjointed and rambling.
Artemis does have book smarts, but oftentimes forgets to use them and makes careless mistakes.
Appearance: (Edit: picture added.)
Artemis has white hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. The ends of her hair are dyed blue, which makes people think that her naturally white hair is also dyed. She is skinny and of shortish-average height (perhaps 5'4" and 90lbs.) She always wears many layers, including a hat, scarf, trench coat, pants, and several shirts/vests. All of her clothing is either black, white, or blue. The messenger bag that she carries around is usually home to a ragged plush cat that she never parts with, along with a few discarded weapon blueprints and an assortment of pens.
Background/History: Separated from her mother since she was very young, Artemis grew up with her sister and her father, who was a relatively well-known designer of warships. Her father was kind, but uninterested in children, and her sister was much older than herself, so Artemis spent most of her time alone. She ended up reading the entirety of her father's research documents, textbooks, and other general nonfiction by the time she was ten. (The significant lack of fiction works in the library is a major cause of Artemis's lack of social skills.)
When she was fourteen, her father's ship was attacked by pirates and destroyed. She lost all traces of both family members, except for her sister's old plush cat. To make a living, she began designing weaponry and armor for ships. Because people rarely commission minors, she pretends to be eighteen and usually conducts business without ever meeting her clients face-to-face.
Weaknesses: She firmly believes that, once she knows a person's name, that person can be trusted completely. She is gullible, and lacks both physical strength and, except in extreme cases, the ability to tell right from wrong. Artemis is easily bribed with candy, strawberries, kittens, and cool hats.
Her short attention span will cause her to stop paying attention to things like fights or weapons before her opponents consider the fight "done," which leads to a multitude of situations in which she renders herself defenseless. Also, she is a klutz, and is very easily distracted.
Anything Extra: Her sister (8 years older) is also named Skye, which causes Artemis to refer to Skye "The Limit" as a female on multiple occasions.
