Artemis cocked her head to the side and stared at Skye, waiting for his reply. "Er, hi" was not exactly a proper response to a yes or no question, after all. Perhaps she should repeat the question? He wasn't acting like he'd heard it, anyway.
"So, do you know her?"

Skye scratched the back of his head. Her? ...Huh? he thought, as he replied with, "I'm the only Skye I know, and the last time I checked, I was male." He would've laughed right then, but he was a bit taken aback by the young woman's...forwardness, he thought, for lack of a better word to describe his impression of the young woman standing in front of him.

"Oh, okay." Artemis shrugged and turned to Skye's companion, a teenager who appeared maybe kind of approximately her age. On closer inspection than she had originally conducted, she saw that he was tan and slender, probably out-of-shape in the skinny-person way. He was either an incredibly impassive person by nature, or he had an extremely good poker face, too.
She smiled at him and walked over, half-waving with her right hand (her left held her cat, as per usual--this time by the tail.)
"Hi, I'm Artemis! What's your name?" Then she gasped and ooh-ed. "Your eyes are so pretty!"
Edit: Conjunction junction, what's your function?

"Uh...thank you." Don't touch me you crazy psychotic lunatic, lest I be infected by your insanity. "And my name is...Feile..." Someone you would normally never be able to meet in your lifetime if not for these absurd circumstances. Be grateful to be within my presence! He was completely at a loss for how to deal with this girl. He'd certainly never encountered anyone like her before, of course this was not necessarily a good thing either. He was able to hold his face together in front of her, but he would sooner have leeches attached to his eyeballs than spend one more minute around her.

Artemis stepped closer, leaned forward, and crossed her arms. "...Feile? I think I've heard that name before. Huh." She backed away and turned so that she could at least somewhat address Feile and Skye at the same time. "So anyway, what are you guys up to?" Her question was directed at both of the young men, though moreso at Skye. It wasn't that Feile irked her or anything like that, he seemed nice enough, but the exessive pauses used in formulating a rather simple sentence led her to believe that he was either in shock (and thus uninteresting at the moment), or a moron (and thus generally boring.) He did have really pretty eyes, though, so he couldn't be too bad. That, and his hair was amusing (in a good way.)
Artemis could see herself being friends with him... if his speechlessness was indeed temporary.

"I'm...just visiting. Now, if you'll excuse me young lady..." he chuckled awkwardly as he turned around to go...again. That girl is sure to cause a ruckus if she finds out who I am... he thought...

"Finally found you!" Ba'an shouted as he zipped through the sky on some form of hoverboard. He quickly reared it around, sending a blast of wind backward as he dashed through the crowd and into Skye. "You're not getting away this time, Limit!" he yelled, reaching out for the collar of Skye's trenchcoat.
(OOC: Meh, long entrance posts are something I don't have time for.)

Artemis giggled and clapped her hands together, watching as the new person burst out from the crowd and raced towards Skye on something... hoverboard-like. That thing was really cool. She wondered if maybe the newcomer would let her look at it later.
"Wow, Skye, you're really popular today!" she lauged, backing away to keep from getting hit with the hoverboard. First Aes was after him, and now this guy. Artemis wondered if the life of a pirate was aways this interesting.

Oh dear God in heaven... Feile mentally smacked himself.
This was it. He was done. Enough with these lunatics and their crazy friends. He just wanted to hop into a hole somewhere and never be found, or curl up into a ball and make it all go away. He had never had to deal with anything like this back at home. At home everyone kissed his ass and was pleasent to him. He was oblivious to the problems of the world, and liked it that way. He also had access to anything and everything he wanted, and people had class and status in the good way. At home there was no fear, other than of his father, and that was only one person, who he had known all his life. Those people surrounding him now were the cattle that kept his family fed. Every instinct engraved into him by lessons told him to assert his power and take control of the situation, to go back home and face up to his father and work something out.
However, there was something in him that was still defiant, that no matter how bad things got, he couldn't swallow his pride and go crawling back home like a spoiled brat (although he really was a spoiled brat). No, he had to stay...though definately not with these people. Of course, this wasn't the best moment to leave, for it would appear he was avoiding them, and that crazy girl seemed to have a knack for knowing when people were slinking away. Instead, he continued to stay and watch and see how events progressed.
(OOC: ZOMG totally pointless post XD fear it, yargh!)

Post by Aes Plummet on Oct 22, 2006 1:29:31 GMT -5
Aes, who had been sitting in a corner drawing circles in the dirt, suddenly heard the unmistakable cry of a fellow bounty hunter:
"You're not getting away this time, Limit!"
Almost automatically, Aes jumped up, prepared to confront this new challenger, and reached for her holster. As her hand groped for a gun that wasn't there, her face fell. Crestfallen, she slumped over in defeat. Suddenly, a glint appeared in her eye, and she slunk into the shadows as sneakily as she could.
((OOC: OMGWTFBBQ. I think this is out of character for Aes. Oh well. Bad mayonnaise messes with your head.))

...Ha? was all that really appeared in Skye's mind as he was easily yanked by the collar and dragged off by the man. However, this situation wasn't something uncommon, and this young pirate knew exactly how to get out of it. Here we go again... he thought inwardly, as he quickly took off the trenchcoat and let himself drop from the speeding board and captor. As he began to descend from the higher altitude, he took a quick look at one of the windows. This one looks alright... he inwardly commented, and drew his shieldblade. With an aerial roll, and a quick stab into the bulding's metal frame, Skye managed to stop himself, at least a good story from the ground. He then waited for the hunter to turn around on his hoverboard, but by the time the young man had reached Skye, the pirate had jumped, sending both men into the ground.

Artemis honestly wasn't sure what had just happened. First, some short guy had burst out of the crowd, screaming about how he wasn't going to let Skye get away. Then something happened, both men flew up towards the top of a building, and then something else happened and now Skye was trenchcoat-less and both men were heading towards the ground. Artemis blinked.
...Er, wait. At least one of them was free-falling, though it was hard to tell if both were. That wasn't good. Should she be trying to help or something?

Post by Ba'an on Oct 23, 2006 23:48:33 GMT -5
Ba'an had thrown the trenchcoat away as soon as Skye escaped out of it. "Damnit..." he swore under his breath, and reared the board around, only to be tackled by the pirate himself. Crap! he thought as he slipped and fell off the board, falling down a good few feet. With his instincts reacting at the last second, Ba'an pushed Skye off, so that he wouldn't take as much damage.

Skye felt the air leave him as he hit the hard pavement, belly side down. With his vision temporarily black, and his air gone, he was temporarily stunned, and unable to move. Crap! was all that ran through his head as he struggled to get up.

That moment was all that Ba'an needed. Jumping up onto his feet, he called his hoverboard to him, which instantly changed shape into a sword. Holding it at Skye's throat, he solemnly declared, "You are hereby under arrest, Skye the Limit," of course inwardly thinking Yes, I've finally got him! He's mine! The bounty! The glory! THE REVENGE.
