Character Name: Aurora "Rory" Westmoreland
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Class: Freelancers
Ship: The Calypso
Weapons: Rory carries a trusty sword (named "Venus") by her side at all times. And though it may seem like she has nothing else but the clothes on her back, one would be amazed to find that she keeps a small variety of weapons safely tucked away like a revolver and some throwing knives for emergencies. We can derive from this that she is pretty skilled in combat and has had her fair share of duels.
Personality: Classy, brazen, and a tad mysterious. At first glance, one would have thought that Rory was a spoiled-merchant's-daughter-turned-pirate, what with the way she dresses and her not-so-redeeming manners. She's straightforward, usually impatient, and hard to please. And when she's not being overly bossy, she turns out to be a wily fox ready to jump the scene and not to mention, flirt endlessly with every man she meets. But beneath this "wild child" lies a lonely little girl, who'd lost her parents before she even realized they were there. Rory may be a little loud compared to most, but she is not at all childish. She keeps her head held high, her grace and poise in check, and when the need arises, takes control of a hard situation with ease and a triumphant smile. If one has her loyalty, they can be sure she won't ever let them down- even if she has to prove so with an almost impossible trick up her sleeve.
Appearance: Mesmerizing violet eyes and long red hair with curls at the end, Rory tends to stand out in a crowd and we can be sure she enjoys the attention too. She is often seen in black and has a variety of revealing apparel on board her ship for different ocassions. The picture shows her usual bounty hunter attire.
Background/History: Rory never knew her real parents. All she remembers is walking alone in town one winter night, a small piece of parchment with nothing else written on it but her name in hand. She was brought up by a kind man named Arthur Finnigan who took her into his home the moment he first saw her. In actuality, he was a rich merchant with lots of land and lots of money, yet no wife and children. When she'd been offered to inherit all his riches though, she turned the offer down for personal reasons. One may have been the fact that the rest of the Finnigan family despised her so much. They would reprimand her for every little thing and even insulted the way she looked on a daily basis. So the very day she turned 15, she told Arthur she was leaving. She bore no grudge for the man but every bit of hatred for his family.
Weaknesses: Parent figures, alcohol, and shiny things. The one thing Rory has a soft spot for are parent figures. Although she refuses to admit so, she does wonder who her real parents are, despite having been loved and cared for by Arthur. This is also the reason why she became a bounty hunter- to look for clues to find out who she really is. Rory also has a weakness for alcohol for she can't turn a good drink down. And though she does have a high tolerance for it, drinking too much is still a habit. Last but not the least are shiny things. They go from coins to burried treasure, and once she's got a piece in hand she'll be ranting about it and admiring it for days.
Extras: Random Facts
(1) Rory does not like being called Aurora, though Arthur did love calling her by such. He used to say it was a beautiful name for it means "dawn".
(2) Rory is often mistaken as a pirate because of her outfit and her manners.
(3) Rory has been known to have broken a few rules time and time again, but she actually takes her job seriously and does what it takes to get it done.
(4) Rory prefers going after the hard-to-get pirates because she loves a challenge.
(5) Calypso actually means "she that conceals". Hmm...
